In this video, physiotherapist Malte Denz shows you how to run correctly on supports.
It is important to always be aware of how much weight you can put on your leg. Inform yourself at your surgeon or attending doctor / physiotherapist. If you have had an operation (full load / partial load) or are in acute pain (e.g. sports injury), it is best to use the 3-point vrutch gait.
If the operation has been a while ago or you want to prevent a limping mechanism (e.g. with hip osteoarthritis), the 2-point crutch gait is suitable.
If you are not allowed to put any weight on the leg, the unloaded 3-point crutch gait or the backswing walk is an option.
Running with only one support is not recommended in the long run, as this can lead to an irregular gait. In the household, this can be an alternative to the 2-point gear if you need one hand for something else. But then it is essential to use the support on the non-operated side!
If you are going to have an operation, I strongly recommend that you practice walking on supports beforehand!
If you like the video, I look forward to a thumbs up and / or a comment :-)
