Curd Rice Gujarati Style | ઘેંસ બનાવવાની રીત |  दही चावल बनानेकी विधी | Ami’s Cooking
Curd rice is a famous south Indian recipe, but Gujarat also has it's own version of curd rice called Ghas. It is so easy to make there is an idiom in Gujarati that you try to cook when you can't even make the Ghas. Here, I have made authentic curd rice Gujarati style. Curd Rice Gujarati Style Recipe :
Ingredients :
1/2 Cup Broken Kamod Basmati Rice
1/2 Tbsp + 1/2 Tsp Ghee
1/2 Tsp Cumin Seeds
4 to 5 Curry Leaves
1 Green Chili Cut
1/4 Tsp Asafoetida
2 Cups Water
1 Tsp + 1/2 Tsp Salt or Salt To Taste
1/2 Tsp Jaggery
1/4 Tsp Ginger Paste
1/2 Cup Curd
1/4 Cup Chopped Coriander
1/4 Cup Milk
Pomegranate Seeds For Decorating

Method Of Making Curd Rice Gujarati Style :
1. Wash the rice for 3 times and soak in drinking water for 20 to 30 minutes.
2. Heat a pan on medium heat and add ghee, cumin seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida and 2 cups water.
3. Add salt, jaggery and ginger paste.
4. Drain Rice and add into boiling water.
5. Adjust the salt and boil for 7 minutes.
6. Lower the heat, cover the pan and cook for 12 minutes.
7. Combine curd and coriander.
8. Serve curd rice, combine milk and ghee.
9. Decorate with pomegranate seeds and coriander.
