Vasi Yoga is a powerful spiritual practice

It is a path that focuses on the awakening and balancing of the internal energy centers the chakras,

This practice has been around for thousands of years and has been passed down through generations from gurus to disciples.

Vasi Yoga was first taught by Lord Shiva himself, making it one of the oldest and most revered forms of yoga.

Its teachings can be found in ancient texts such as Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Tirumandiram.

The concept of Vasi Yoga revolves around the belief that every individual has an energy body and that this body needs to be nurtured and balanced for optimal health and spiritual growth.

the energy of the human body flows through nadis (energy channels)

chakras are responsible for the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of an individual.

The practice of Vasi Yoga aims to awaken and balance these chakras to achieve a harmonious state of body, mind, and soul.

There are four main practices in Vasi Yoga: pranayama, asanas, bandhas, and meditation.

Let us delve deeper into each of these practices and understand how they contribute to the overall benefits of Vasi Yoga.

Pranayama is a Sanskrit word that means breath control.

It is a crucial aspect of Vasi Yoga as it helps to purify the mind and body by regulating the flow of energy.

The correct breathing techniques are essential in Vasi Yoga as it is believed that each breath has the power to heal and balance the body's energy system.

In Vasi Yoga, there are various types of pranayama techniques, each with its specific purpose.

These techniques can be practiced in a sitting or lying down position, and they involve slow and deep breaths.

One of the primary techniques is Nadi Shodhana, which involves alternate nostril breathing to balance the flow of energy in the body.

Another popular technique is Kapalbhati, which focuses on forceful exhalation to cleanse the internal organs and rejuvenate the mind.

Asanas refer to the physical postures in yoga. In Vasi Yoga, the primary purpose of asanas is to strengthen the physical body and release any blockages that may be hindering the flow of energy.

Each asana targets a particular area of the body and has a specific benefit on the related chakra.

For instance, Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Spinal Twist) helps to stimulate the Manipura (solar plexus) chakra, which is responsible for willpower and self-confidence.

Vasi Yoga also incorporates the use of mudras (hand gestures) and bhandas (energy locks) in asanas to increase the flow of energy.

The most commonly used mudra in Vasi Yoga is the chin mudra, where the thumb and index finger are joined, and the other three fingers are extended.

This mudra is believed to enhance concentration and improve intuition.

bandhas like Moola bandha (root lock) and Jalandhara bandha (chin lock) help in controlling and channeling the prana (life force energy) in the body.

Bandhas are energy locks that help to intensify the flow of prana in the body.

These locks prevent the energy from dissipating and direct it towards specific areas of the body to achieve optimum results.

In Vasi Yoga, there are three major bandhas, namely Moola Bandha, Uddiyana Bandha, and Jalandhara Bandha.

Moola Bandha, also known as the root lock, is activated by contracting the muscles of the perineum (the area between the anus and the genitalia).

It helps to draw the energy from the lower chakras towards the higher ones, resulting in a feeling of stability and grounding.

Uddiyana Bandha, or the belly lock, is activated by pulling the abdomen towards the spine.

This bandha helps to increase the flow of energy in the torso, including the Manipura and Anahata (heart) chakras. It is also believed to improve digestion and stimulate the digestive organs.

Jalandhara Bandha, or the chin lock, is activated by lowering the chin towards the chest, compressing the throat.

It helps to stimulate the Vishuddhi (throat) chakra and balance the thyroid gland. This bandha is also beneficial in calming the mind and promoting relaxation.

Meditation is an essential aspect of Vasi Yoga as it helps to achieve a deep state of relaxation and inner peace

. It involves calming the mind and focusing on the present moment through various techniques like breath awareness, mantra repetition, and visualization.

In Vasi Yoga, meditation is practiced in a seated position, with the eyes closed.

The goal is to achieve a state of thoughtless awareness, where the mind is free from distracting thoughts and can connect with the inner self.

Through regular meditation practice, one can gain clarity of mind, reduce stress and anxiety, and awaken a higher level of consciousness.

The practices in Vasi Yoga have a multitude of physical, mental, and spiritual benefits. Some of the significant advantages of practicing Vasi Yoga include:
