What are ways that PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance--preferably called Pervasive or Persistent Drive for Autonomy) show up? PDA is an autonomic nervous system response (it's how some of us are wired, and it's innate). Due to the dysregulation of the nervous system, it can look like trying to be in control. PDAers see everyone as equal, and there are no hierarchies. Many of us have learned to get ahead of the curve and anticipate needs, so we can reduce demands.

If this resonates, or you want to hear more, episode 225 called Navigating Autism and PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance or Pervasive Drive for Autonomy) talks more about this. You can find episode 225 on your favorite podcast player, or you can listen directly here on my channel
