Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is the new Indian hindi language peroid drama web series created by sanjay leela bhansali
The series is about the lives of tawaifs at the Red light area of Heera mandii in lahore during the Indian independent movement against the British.
It stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Sharmin Segal.
Bhansali and Mitakshara Kumar serve as directors.
Heera Mandii was officially announced in April 2021, as a project Bhansali had envisaged 14 years ago.
The eight-part series, which also marks Bhansali's first project for streaming platform netflix.
bhansali began filming in June 2022.
Filming was reported to have ended a year later in June 2023, after Bhansali asked for reshoots in May.
In a 2023 interview with Netflix's CEO Ted sarandos, Bhansali described Heeramandi as his "biggest project ever made by netflix.
