Why Train Internal Rotation of the Left Hip? (So you can diaphragmatically BREATHE).

Internal rotation of the left hip via the left adductor and anterior glute medius is where Postural Restoration training programs start. The reason is that a body that can't internally rotate at the left hip can't properly pressurize the pelvic floor and thorax for diaphragmatic breathing.

So we don't train internal rotation only to establish better joint range of motion. Too much joint range of motion can be detrimental because it's leads to instability.

We train hip internal rotation, mostly on the left, to re-establish proper pelvis stability off which we can breathe without compensation. And once we can breathe without compensation we have a better chance of moving without compensation. That's what you need internal rotation for.

The left hip musculature does have to be trained in an internal rotation position, but that doesn't necessitate weights. In fact, weights probably won't help. PRI techniques generally use only the weight of your own leg to train the movement.
