Demonstration of Boyle's law experiment with data collection to investigate the relationship between gas pressure and volume at constant temperature for a fixed mass of gas.  Boyle's law is one of the key foundations of the ideal gas law and so this experiment is relevant for GCSE science, A-Level physics and A-Level chemistry.  The data collected in this video is used to investigate whether gas pressure and volume are directly proportional or inversely proportional in a second video (Boyle's Law Experiment: Data Analysis).

You can download the worksheet to try the analysis yourself - great for learning independently at home: https://physicshq.wixsite.com/alevelp...

Experiments with gases, like this one, are mandatory practicals for many physics specifications.  So this is good practice for OCR physics A, AQA A-Level physics, Edexcel A-Level physics, CPAC, PAG, practical endorsement.

Want to see a video close up of the pressure and volume scales so you can collect the data yourself?  Then check out this video: Do it yourself: Boyle's Law Data Coll...

Relevant concepts: Boyle's law, gas laws, ideal gas law, gas pressure, gas volume, direct proportionality, inverse proportionality, and testing for proportionality.
