Local favorite Mohammedan Sporting Club knocked out FC Bengaluru United in the first semifinal. The Panthers defeated FC Bengaluru United by 4-2 goals at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, a. k. a. Salt Lake Stadium. Within a minute, Pedro Manzi opened the scoreboard for FC Bengaluru United. The Black Panthers became charged up and within 9 minutes, Marcus Joseph scored the equalizer. In the 38th minute, Faisal Ali took the lead for the Mohammedans. In the 78th minute, Kingshuk Debnath scored the equalizer. In a nail-biting match, in the 103rd minute, Brandon Vanlalremdika gave the lead to the Black Panthers. The match ended with Nicola Stojanovic's penalty shootout in the 110th minute. Thus, Mohammedan Sporting Club booked their place in the 130th Durand Cup final. Marcus Joseph bagged the Man of the Match award.
Asia’s oldest football tournament, the Durand Cup, is back again with a tough fight between the sixteen teams. This is the 130th edition of the tournament.
