Skopje is the capital and
Skopje is the capital and the biggest city in North Macedonia. And if you're looking for unusual city to visit in Europe, Skopje got you covered. There are so many statues here that it might as well be called the statues capital of the world! There's also classical looking buildings that somehow look odd. And I'm still not sure why. It's interesting though, I give them that.
Statues and classical looking buildings aside, Skopje has a fascinating history dating back to the Roman Empire, with influences from the Byzantine, Ottoman, and Yugoslav eras. Skopje’s history stretches back over 2,000 years and a such the city is steeped in a rich cultural heritage that you can still see and feel whilst exploring the city today.
So come join me as I explore Skopje, the most unusual city I've visited so far.
