During their entire lifetime and
During their entire lifetime and friendship together, never have Krishna and Arjuna discussed Krishna’s true formless reality beyond the name and form that He was always known as - until this point of the gīta. In this chapter, Krishna lovingly and clearly describes who He really is. However, although it is true, that He manifests in this world in eight different ways (the 5 elements, the mind, the intellect and the individual identity), even that is only a lower level manifestation of His reality. He is the properties of all the elements, yet He is also the reason why all of it exists and He is also beyond all the qualities. Beyond Him, truly, nothing else exists. It is only because of māyā that most people do not realise Him. But those who realise that all delusion and foolishness is born out of duality and instead, continuously seek Him alone, shall eventually find Him, attain Him and be redeemed.
