Simulation runs are one tool
Simulation runs are one tool I always try to use before hitting my races. A simulation run should be in all the gear that you are going to use during the race. That means EVERYTHING! When I was using GU gummies I didn't realize the little edges would rub on my inner arm when I had my headlamp and extra batteries in the same pocket. That gave me a glorious chafe mark by the end of the race.
