Highlights of the FINAL bout between Japan and Korea in the Men's Team Sabre Fencing Event at the Seoul 2022 Asian Championships

Korea is the reigning Olympic Champion from both London 2012 and Tokyo 2021 Olympics. Going into this bout, Korea had won 2 of the 3 Team Sabre World Cups of the 2021 to 2022 season - at Tbilisi and Madrid. Korea is also the reigning World Champion from 2017, 2018, and 2019. Finally, Korea is both reigning Asian Champion and Asian Games Champion.

Japan is not one of the big players in the Men's Team Sabre world circuit. The second strongest player in the Asia Zone is usually Iran.
