Quarterfinal bout of the 2023 Milan World Championships Men's Sabre Team between USA and South Korea.

On the Right - Team Korea
Korea had won every World Championships and the Olympics since 2017.
During this season, Team Korea's dominance of the circuit was questioned multiple times - particularly when the team of OH Sanguk 오상욱 KIM Junho 김준호, and GU Bongil 구본길 lost to Georgia in the Round of 8 at the Madrid World Cup.
Additionally, while OH Sanguk 오상욱 and Kim Junghwan had been injured for a few months at different points of the season, DO Gyeongdong and PARK Sangwon had been brought in on few of the earlier competitions. Confusingly, in the later part of the season, despite DO's good performance and KIM being almost crippled, KIM was still chosen as the substitute for most competitions - including for the Asian Games. Then, for the World Championships, HA Hansol, was chosen as the substitute (despite not making any appearances on the team this season).
Individually, during this season, OH Sanguk 오상욱 won the 2023 Seoul Grand Prix, while KIM Junho 김준호 won Silver at the 2023 Asian Championships.
On the Left - Team China
Team China has not performed well in the Men's Sabre Team event for a few Olympic cycles now. However, this season, Team China has done a little better - they came fourth at the 2023 Luxardo World Cup (losing to Korea in the Bronze medal bout). Team China then came joint Bronze with Japan at the 2023 Asian Championships
