Months are fairly easy to memorise for most people as they have a similar spelling in many European languages. The main thing you want to keep in mind is that we say Septembre and no September, etc.
By the way, if you know numbers in French already, you will notice that Septembre is formed after the number "Sept". Yet, September is the ninth month of the year. Why? Because in the past, the new year started from Spring. It's only later on that January became the first month of our modern days Gregorian calendar. :)
