🙏 Class Description:

This is a 60 min yin yoga class focusing on the neck, wrists, and arms. Traditionally yin yoga mostly targets the lower body (as the fascia & deeper connective tissue in the lower body (legs & hips) are denser – there is just more to work on). This practice works on less conventional yin areas: the neck, wrists, and arms; also, a little bit on the shoulders, chest, middle & upper back – perfect for those of you working on the computer (sitting at a desk) and feel tension and stress from the upper body all the way into the wrists.

The class is suitable for all levels of practitioners.

I am only giving minimal verbal instructions. A lot of people like to listen to slow music as it helps them to dive even deeper into relaxation.

PS: A brief introduction to yin:

- Postures are similar to some ‘yang’ asanas but held in a passive way over an extended period of time (usually between 3-5 mins).
- Keep the muscles in the targeted area relaxed. We are not working on the muscles, but on the connective tissue of the body (deeper fascial network, tendons, ligaments, bones, joints).
- In every posture find your edge (where you first feel a change in the tissue when coming into a posture), stay there in stillness (stillness of the body, the breath and the mind) and hold the posture for the whole duration.

Self-sensitivity. Developing awareness and thereby a feeling for oneself – for the body, thoughts and emotions – recognising one´s own needs and giving them space.
Change of perspective. Instead of looking outwards, looking inwards – reviewing expectations (one´s own and those of others) – discovering what matters most in life.
Self-love. Accepting oneself – getting in touch with one´s own life-themes – developing a loving attitude towards oneself and others.
