Kishk  is a delicious Syrian, Middle Eastern recipe, that is a soup like cooked with sauteed onions, cabbage, served with fried Kebbeh. Where kishk is made from wheat, and milk, grounded into super fine powder. (similar to the Greek Traxanas, Τραχανάς)

The ingredients of our recipe are:
200 gr Kishk (or Traxanas, Τραχανάς)
500 ml warm water
150 gr onion chopped in long thin strips
150 gr cabbage chopped in long thin strips
3 garlic cloves, crushed
500 ml cold water
1 spoon of salt
1 spoon of black pepper
30 ml olive oil

Into a large non stick pan, we add the oil on medium to high heat, then we add the onions, garlic and the cabbage, the salt and pepper and we sauté for 10-15 minutes, on medium heat with the cover, till soft, caramelized and cooked, we add 1/2 lt of water, then we put aside for a while.
In the mean time, into a large bowl we add the warm water to the kishk powder and we mix very well,  so that we have a thick paste, then we add this to our sauteed onions and cabbages pot, and we cook 10-15 minutes on medium to low heat, ensuring to constantly stir, to avoid burning, then we remove from the heat and we set aside.

Onto this amazing thick soup, we add our fried kebbeh and we drizzle with olive oil, a pinch of black pepper and we enjoy.
