I've been seeing a married guy for four years, and he recently asked me to come to his daughter's birthday party, introducing me as a coworker.
I thought it was okay to go since it's up to him to be respectful towards his wife, not me.
When I got there, everything was lovely. His daughter is so cute, and the party was fancy since he's pretty well-off.
He's 39, his wife's 40, and I'm 23. We get along really well, and he goes out of his way to keep me happy.
He insists that I should be there for all the big moments in his life, which is why he invited me to his daughter's birthday party.
At the party, he kept sitting close to me, and whispered romantic things in my ear while everyone was having fun.
He was saying stuff like "I want to kiss you" and "You look gorgeous," and when his daughter saw me, she said, "Wow, you are beautiful," all while his wife was watching.
Later on, during the toast, his wife was going on about their lovely family and how grateful she is to have such a great husband who loves her.
But all I could think was that the man she's praising loves me, and he's just staying with her because of their daughter. He even told me they don't share a bed anymore, which just makes me feel sorrier for her.
And lastly, I'm not being careful about not getting pregnant because I really think if I did get pregnant, he would leave her for me.
