This is a #easycakerecipe that you probably have all the ingredients in your house right now & its oh so delicious! My family absolutely loved this cake - its so easy with simple, every day ingredients most would have at home already and the perfect sweet treat - not to mention it looks beautiful on a cake plate. So when you are wanting something sweet or once the world gets off lock down and you have a last minute dinner guest or potluck to go - I hope you will give this recipe a try.
Here is the recipe:
KENTUCKY BUTTER CAKE RECIPE
3 cups Flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
1 cup milk (i used 2%)
1 tablespoon white vinegar
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
*Preheat Over to 350
Liberally Grease Your Bundt Pan
Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. In a separate bowl cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy - about 5 minutes.
Add the vinegar to the milk and stir (also in separate dish)
Add eggs to the butter mix one at a time - making sure to blend in well after each
add in vanilla
add in flour mix and milk alternating until each is all gone
Spoon batter into your pan and bake 45-60 mins until completely done.
BUTTER GLAZE
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
3 tablespoons brandy or water
1 teaspoon vanilla
heat everything over low heat (except vanilla) until melted - add vanilla off the heat once melted and stir. Do not bring this to a boil.
Once cake is done poke holes in cake with chopstick or skewer. Do not poke holes all the way through to the bottom of pan. Pour hot butter glaze over cake and let it sit for 30 mins. After 30 or more minutes invert onto cake plate - dust with powder sugar and enjoy.
