Cabbage Rice | Savory Outdoor Cooking in Northern Iran

Welcome to our cottage! While our playful cats chase each other around, we whip up a delicious cabbage rice dish. It's a taste of tradition and warmth, blending flavors with the promise of spring. Join us at our virtual table for a simple yet inviting experience, embracing the magic of homemade cooking in the heart of our village locate in Gilan province, Iran.

Here, our goal is to share a good time, along with tips or experiences from cooking.

Vegetables of our cabbage pilaf:
Basil
Dill
Chives
Tarragon
From high to low.
.
Meatballs ingredients:
Mixed minced meat of beef and mutton
Grated onion (drained)
Chickpea flour, salt and pepper and a little turmeric
.
Roast the cabbages with lemon juice and a little turmeric and let them cook for about 20 minutes with the door closed.
We drained the rice, which was cooked with salt and turmeric, and put the lettuce in the bottom of the pot.

Pour the layers of rice, cabbage and  meatballs on the lettuce.
.
This dish is perfect with Shirazi salad.(small chopped union, cucumber and tomatoes)
