During the colder months, a polythene Ventilation Screen is the ideal way to screen off the net ventilation incorporated into an Aluminium Side Rail Kit, allowing you to create the environment which best suits your plants all year round.
In this video we show you how to assemble your Ventilation Screen.
The first step is to insert the gearbox into the aluminium track on the upright. Fix both uprights to the side rail at each end of the tunnel (once the side rails have been lowered to their original position).
Fix the polythene Ventilation Screen and ventilation net (with the net on top of the polythene) into the bottom cover slot of the Aluminium Side Rail using black PVC 'U' profiles, followed by the grey PVC 'T' profiles - this should be done down the length/side of the polytunnel only.
Assemble the steel lifting bar with the square adaptor at the gearbox end, securing the sections together with a self drill screw.
At the opposite end, cut the steel lifting bar to fit between the uprights.
Trim off the polythene screen along the ground leaving approximately 1ft of overlap and in line with the ends of the steel lifting bar. Wrap the excess polythene screen around the lifting bar and secure with the black plastic C Clips provided.
Using the handle provided, check the screen rolls up and down perpendicular to the side rail.
Tension the ventilation net into the trench or down to the Base Rails, depending on which option has been chosen. Fix in place by backfilling with soil, using timber battens and nails, or PVC infills. Tension the ventilation net out to the uprights and either batten in place or use PVC infills (depending on your order).
Fix the polythene end panels into the bottom cover slot of the Aluminium Side Rail from the door post to the upright using grey PVC 'U' profiles, followed by the grey PVC 'T' profiles. Tension the polythene end panels into the trench or down to the Base Rails, depending on which option has been chosen. Fix in place by backfilling with soil, using timber battens and nails, or PVC infills.
Tension the polythene end panels out to the uprights and door frames.
Taking care, trim off any excess.
