Timber Side Rails are available
Timber Side Rails are available for one or both sides of the polytunnel, with ventilation net placed below the rails. During the colder months, a polythene Ventilation Screen allows you to screen off the netting, fully or partially, using a low ratio gearbox to roll the screen up or down in seconds with little effort.
This video shows you how to 'prep' your side ventilation, ready for covering your polytunnel at a later stage. This videos shows you how to 'prep' when using both Side Rails and Ventilation Screens.
Start by tacking the polythene ventilation screen to the side rail down the length of the tunnel. Tack the ventilation net over the top of the polythene ventilation screen. A polythene end panel should be tacked to the side rail on the ends of the tunnel and should come around the corner approx 1-2ft. Lengths of timber batten should be nailed on top of the polythene and netting in line with the top edge of the side rail from door post to door post. Cut off (at an angle) any rebate that protrudes at the corners.
Loosen all side rail fixings and raise the side rail approx 1-2in. Re-tighten all fixings.
