Finally, here is the last part of this BOSS GT-3 video series; it´s been a long road and a big effort to me of doing all of this but I think it was necessary to show off the potential of this great gear! Maybe one day I´ll create new patches and share them. I really hope that all of this can be useful for GT-3 users.
** I put the presets specifications in the comments **
First some tips about how to make it sound good through a mixer, sound card or recording device:
GENERAL CONFIGURATION
Utility - 1.GLOBAL
Your Settings - Line (Headphones)
Low EQ - 0dB
High EQ - 0dB
NS Threshold - 0dB
Reverb Level - 100%
Master
Master Level - 100
Master BPM - 120
Noise Suppressor - On (Not always necessary)
Threshold - 45 (Normally between 45 and 65, as needed)
Release - 50 (Or a little less; it depends on the type of sound)
Foot Volume - Level 100 (Watch out: It must be always this value; it could happen that it change while searching new sounds, and if it´s too low, the preset won´t sound)
Effect Chain: FV - tr - CS - Wah - od - PRE - eq - NS - FV - hr - DD - ce - RV (This is the usual setting, but it can be modified for certain presets if desired)
PRESETS:
1. BALLERINA (Steve Vai)
This is one of the strangest sound I´ve ever heard in a guitar recording; it almost sound like a real music box! There are several tutorial videos explaining how to play the song, it´s not difficult, so check it!
2. PETRUCCI 1
A very powerful sound inspired in Petrucci´s rocking tone; I reccomend turning down the Preamp Drive a bit with the Exp pedal for backing guitars, and put it at full range plus activating Delay and EQ in 'Manual' mode (with Ctl pedal) for the lead sound.
3. PETRUCCI 2
This sound is inspired in Petrucci´s clean tone; it has added an acoustic guitar simulator that creates an atmospheric sound; it can be switched off with Ctl pedal.
4. SANTANA
Here we have a creamy crunch tone that can help us to sound like Carlos Santana; I reccomend putting down Preamp Drive with the Exp pedal and even turning down the guitar´s main volume for a soft sound, and putting all at full range and activating the Overdrive and a little Delay with Ctl pedal for a stronger lead sound.
** ONE LAST TIP: This is a very powerful and extremely editable processor which effects and Preamp´s volumes, EQ´s and parameters have to be used with moderation because if not it may cause a wrong or distorted sound **
