Hi everyone! This is a demonstration of some presets I have recently created for this guitar effects device that is now a classic. It took me several hours to adjust them and to find out how to make it sound right, clear and natural, but the effort was worth it.
** I put the presets specifications in the comments **
All the guitars that sound in this video were recorded directly from GT-3 output to the sound card and have no post-processing or EQ added.
In the first 4 videos I´ll show the presets and how to program them, and in the 5th there will be some special stuff; hope all this can be useful for Boss GT-3 owners.
First some tips about how to make it sound good through a mixer, sound card or recording device:
GENERAL CONFIGURATION TIP IN THE COMMENTS
PRESETS DESCRIPTION AND FEATURES
1. DEEP CLEAN 1
An ambiental, clean sound with medium, bright reverb, a long delay and some FX like Tremolo, Phaser and Chorus that gives it a deep texture. It can be used as a normal clean sound by switching Off FX´s and Overdrive into 'Manual' mode.
Exp pedal changes Delay volume, allowing the user to alternate between a dry or a wet sound.
Ctl pedal activates 'Manual' mode, that turns the GT-3 into a virtual stompbox where pedals 1 to 4 and bank Up-Down work as On-Off switches for the assigned effects, Tuner and Preamp.
** Note: The 'Manual' mode can be configurated by using the Left and Right arrows to navigate through the target pedals to assign and the Value wheel to change the assignated stuff **
** IMPORTANT: The 'Manual' mode settings can´t be saved, so it must be reprogrammed each time the user need a different set **
2. DEEP CLEAN 2
Another ambiental and 'crispy' clean sound with a deeper texture due to higher FX values. It also can be used as a normal crunchy-clean preset by turning off FX´s (Tremolo, Phaser and Chorus) with the Ctl pedal, and adjusting Delay volume with the Exp pedal.
3. ACOUSTIC 1
A regular acoustic guitar simulator; it sounds fine with the middle position of the guitar pickup switch. Ctl pedal turns On-Off Delay and change EQ volume, allowing the user to alternate between rhythm and solo sound. Exp pedal controls Foot Volume.
4. ROTARY LEAD
This is a fine rotary speaker simulator, with the posibility of modifying rotative speaker´s speed by using the Exp pedal. It also has the feature of toggling rhythm and solo sound by turning On/Off Delay and changing EQ volume, both things with Ctl pedal.
5. SOFT LEAD 1
Here is a preset with a crunchy lead tone; it comes with a 'Hazy' texture, but can be used as well as a normal crunchy-clean-solo sound by switching off Tremolo, Flanger and Chorus with the Ctl Pedal. Exp pedal controls Delay volume.
** ONE LAST TIP: This is a very powerful and extremely editable processor which effects and Preamp´s volumes, EQ´s and parameters have to be used with moderation because if not it may cause a wrong or distorted sound **
Thanks for watching
