This is our Samsung Galaxy M20 Review. Find out all the things you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy M20.

So first things first, the M20 looks nothing like previous Samsung phones. And mostly it’s because of this teardrop notch, its the first time that Samsung has used the notch in its smartphone. But Samsung doesn't want to say that its a notch. Samsung has an option called hide the camera which does the same thing and its under full-screen apps. It's weird but it doesn't matter this thing looks very impressive from the front. Kinda looks like a premium phone from the front. The side bezels are very minimum. And the bottom chin is very small as well, it even goes head to head with the S9 plus if we compare.

So we get a selfie camera on the notch, on the bottom, there's a headphone jack, speaker and it's surprising but we get a USB type c port. It feels like Samsung didn't want to compromise on anything with this phone. But of course, they have had to because this phone is supposed to be ridiculously cheap and take on the likes of xiaomi. Moving on, the buttons feel quite right, it's clicky and i've repeating this sentence very much, doesn't feel cheap. There's a dual sim slot with a dedicated micro sd slot as well and moving back to the speaker, it's just average. It feels alright when you're watching videos but I felt it wasn't quite adequate when I was playing games, especially PUBG.

So except that, build wise this phone looks great so far. It looks good and feels solid as well. I've like nothing to complain about.

So on to the display, it has a 6.29-inch display with a screen resolution of 1080x2340 with 409 dpi. Now, of course, it's not an AMOLED panel. But still the display quality is nice. The color is good, no noticeable color shifts, and its bright enough for outdoors. I've been satisfied with this display while watching videos on youtube and even while gaming. It's not even an average lcd panel, it's a good one. I guess Samsung cannot do a bad display even if it's not AMOLED.

So Samsung has gone with their own Exynos 7904 Octa processor with a Mali G71 GPU. this one has 3 gigs of RAM 32 GIGS of internal storage. There might be another variant as well but we would know it only after the launch.

Performance wise, it does fine with launching apps and switching between multiple apps. but it's not the smoothest experience. you will notice the animations are not as smooth. and sometimes you might notice the slight lag as well. but it's not bad, I mean this is supposed to be a cheap phone so i would its say good or it might be better but that depends on the price. Well, I ran two games on this, asphalt 9 and PUBG. Asphalt 9 ran very smooth, I was surprised actually. there were no lags, no hiccups. Canon say same about the later, the frame rate was way below what I would prefer but it's impressive that there no lags or very significant stutter. I Would say this thing is a good performer.

While performance is good on this thing, the best part of this phone is its huge 5000 mAh battery. the battery on this thing is godlike. I used this phone for 2 days straight, and I was able to get 6 hours and 37 mins of screen on time. and I still had 5% left in the tank. it's just amazing. But of course this will take time to get fully charge from 0 to 100. It took me 2 hours and 30 mins to get from 5% to 100% using my s9 plus's charger. But it's fine. because you don't need to charge this thing too often.

Now talking about the software on this thing. Its running Android 8.1.0 and it's an Experience UI but its called Samsung Experience for Galaxy M. And there are some noticeable changes. the fonts seem to be slightly different than usual and there are lots of bloatware preinstalled. And most of it is bundled inside this app called my Galaxy. The most noticeable is the lock screen stories. you get different info on your lock screen, you can choose different categories that you want to follow. So yes it seems, Samsung is going all in for the Indian market. And there are other features like S bike mode, S power planning and other. Some of this is very useful like the Ultra power saving mode, and some might not be as useful but that depends on your usage.
