Hyperpigmentation and you Skin Type:  Knowing your skin type according to the Fitzpatrick Scale can really make a difference in the effectiveness of hyperpigmentation treatments are for the face.

Understanding the different causes of hyperpigmentation, and what skin type you have will help you make a better decision in what type of hyperpigmentation treatment may be best for you.

3 MAIN types of Hyperpigmentation:

Lentigines- Most common- caused by Lipofuscin vs Melanin
Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation-easier to treat  Example of these are acne scars, marks left after an abrasion, rash, or cut  heals
Melasma- More difficult to treat-hormone driven -usually shows up as patches.
