This video gives a basic tutorial on how typical digital oscilloscopes (DSO) process data from the analog input to the display.  Topics include Sample Rate, Sample processing / Acquisition Modes, Waveform Record Length, Display Processing and Measurements.  Of course, this is a detailed topic, and every detail isn't covered in this short video, but it does give a general overview of the process.  Every manufacturer has their own terminology and variations on how they specifically perform this processing.  It is important for you to understand how your particular scope operates in order to get the most accurate results from your measurements.
