The General Atomics MQ-1C Gray Eagle manufactured by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems is an extended range / multipurpose (ER/MP) unmanned aircraft system (UAS) developed from the General Atomics MQ-1 Predator. The MQ-1C can perform reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition, command and control, communications relay, signals intelligence (SIGINT), electronic warfare (EW), attack, improvised explosive device (IED) and battle damage assessment missions. The MQ-1C Gray Eagle is armed with four AGM-114 Hellfire air-to-ground missiles. The maiden flight of the MQ-1C Gray Eagle took place in October 2004 and it went into service in 2009. Primary user is the United States Army. There were approx. 75 MQ-1C Gray Eagle produced as of October 2013. The MQ-1C Gray Eagle is still active in service. Cost per unit is approx. 4,745.3 million USD.
