So here's the thing about my job, it's like a game show only without any change of winning. Like my last team meeting. 30 minutes into it and I'm thrilled with our brainstorming? Uh, excited about our paradigm shift? Slowly slipping into a REM cycle? And the boss wants to know if we finished the design. Boom! Now I'm paying attention, Why? Because I busted my hump on my part and I'm finite, done, pass the guacamole. So you'd think I'd be praised for this? Shown an appreciative nod? Dismissed out of hand? Why? Because my teammates are better at making up excuses than time. And now I'm the guy that has to carry their load. Look it's not like I'm asking for a lot here. Just a little accountability. So, here's a memo to the HR department. Next time we do training, teach us the skills to hold people accountable. The what to say and the how to say it.
