In this lecture, I have discussed one interesting topic on medicinal chemistry, i.e. Tyrosine to L-DOPA (or levo-DOPA), chemical conversion by two different methods. I have provided a detailed mechanism here. I have also explained the conversion of L-DOPA to dopamine inside the brain which is a medicine for Perkinson's disease. However, the drug Dopamine can not be consumed directly as it can not cross the Blood-Brain Barrier (BBB).
