Three grizzly bears, including a sow and cub, were the highlight of this virtual Yellowstone tour from Fishing Bridge to Yellowstone's east entrance. There is also some stunning scenery, with mountains, rivers and Yellowstone Lake, before finishing up at a picnic spot in grizzly country, just outside Yellowstone, on the road to Cody!

Fishing Bridge is part of Yellowstone's history, all the way back to the original bridge which visitors were allowed to fish off, and which was made from rough-hewn corduroy logs. Fishing is no longer permitted but you can still stand on the bridge and gaze at the Yellowstone River flowing out of Yellowstone Lake, towards the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

The road to the east entrance follows Yellowstone Lake before cutting away from the lake not too far from Lake Butte, which is more or less where the east edge of the caldera is, at this part of Yellowstone. The caldera is the gigantic hole in the ground, which was left when the Yellowstone super volcano last erupted.

The scenery is really spectacular in this part of Yellowstone, especially when you go past Eleanor Lake and Sylvan Lake, before descending down Sylvan Pass to the east entrance.

Just outside the east entrance are some great pull outs next to the North Fork of the Shoshone River, where I like to stop for a picnic.
