Barramundi Spearfishing with Tim McDonald (Australian Champion!) Catch, clean, cook burgers.

Weather, tides & work aligned for us this day in central Queensland hunting the enigmatic barramundi. Tim McDonald is one of the current Australian champions in spearfishing (along with Bryson Sheehy) and we’ve been diving together since 2012. There isn’t another person on the planet that has put me onto more quality fish than Tim and this day was no exception.

Later Hannah and I make an old classic, the barra burger. The wings and belly flap was shared amongst dozen of people at the Adreno Brisbane store for a live Noob Spearo Podcast episode and the frame was put into the crab pots.

Fisheries bag limits for barramundi are 5 per person, per day with a minimum size of 58cm and maximum size of 120cm. We took one nice fish each for the day which measured 105cm & 108cm.
