In this 9 minute video, see Dr Boon Lim, explains to a patient with joint hypermobility syndrome  (JHS)  or Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) why

* Due to JHS/EDS there may be altered perception of proprioception (joint position sense)
* How this inappropriate joint position sense conditions us to dial up the autonomic nervous system (particularly the sympathetic nervous system, responsible for flight, fright or freeze responses)
* How this may lead to upregulation of vigilance (hypervigilance) to explain some of the increased sensitivities some patients may have to light, sounds, touch, temperature (all sensed which are dialled up by the autonomic nervous system)
* How upregulation of the adrenaline system, also impairs ones ability to emotionally self regulate, and to create reactive tendencies could explain some traits
* How upregulation of the adrenaline system, may also lead to a tendency to immune upregulation (in the face of "threat of danger", there may be more immune responsiveness), which could increase susceptibility to mast cell activation syndrome, and increased reactivity to vaccines, infections, Covid and stresses
* This may also lead to gut/food sensitivities and intolerances.
