LEARN ABOUT DISCIPLINARY HEARINGS.
It is important for employees to understand how to prepare for disciplinary hearings at work. Prior to attending a disciplinary hearing, the employer will issue a notice to attend a disciplinary hearing. Upon receiving the notice to attend a disciplinary hearing, it is important for an employee to:
(a) understand the allegations which are levelled against him or her by the employer.
(b) take note of the date of the disciplinary hearing.
(c) take note of the venue of the disciplinary hearing.
(d) understand the rights he or she has as per the notice to attend the disciplinary hearing.
Prior the disciplinary hearing the employee should at least prepare his or her approach. The preparation includes, amongst other things, consulting with potential witnesses and preparing a bundle of evidence.
