Here is a summary of my current training 6 weeks out of Ironman 70.3 Arizona
Bike:
Typically 6-8 hours per week
Long ride: ~3 hours
Average Ride: 1-2 hours
FTP: 226
Typically riding 60-70% FTP (135-160 Watts) (14-17 MPH average)
Goal: 2:30-2:45 minute bike (~20mph average, 220+ watts)
Run:
15-25 miles per week
Long Run: 90 minutes ~9 miles
Average Run: 60 minutes ~6 miles
Typical pace: ~9:00-9:30/mile
Goal: 1:30-1:40 Run (7:30-8:00/ mile pace)
Swim:
Long Swim: 70 minutes
Typical Swim: 45-50 minutes
Distance ~2000m/yards
Average pace: 1:45-1:50/ 100m
Goal Swim: Under 42 minutes (Previous 46 minutes no wetsuit)
Resistance Training:
Currently focused on triathlon specific strength work aka "functional resistance training" including marches, step-ups, rotation work, core strength, etc.
