I'm Aja Dang and this is my August Budget Recap and September Budget Check In. One exciting thing is my planner is coming along! I've been using the budgeting aspect of my planner for a month and I'm really excited about the weekly budget breakdown and the monthly budget recap. I'm hoping and praying that you'll be able to get your hands on it this year. In other news: I thought changing banks was going to be easy but it's not.
I was reminded why I didn't like USC Credit Union (had them 8 years ago) and the struggle of testing out so many different financial institutions is real. After shooting this video this is what I think I'm going to do:
--- I'm actively trying to leave Chase but until I find a suitable replacement (maybe Bank of the West?) I'll keep my money there.
--- hanging on to Ally for a bit because I love that you can easily open up lots of accounts with them (or use 'buckets') to organize your money for different goals. I'm hoping Empower Bank will add a feature like this bc that would make my life so much easier but until then, I'll hang onto Ally.
--- keep Empower since that's where my fully funded EF is and where my bill sinking fund is. Again, I'm hoping they'll add a feature to organize funds into buckets like Ally. That would be the ultimate goal and that way I can leave Ally (and yes, I've suggested it)
--- If we don't move to Houston: I'll cancel my credit union account and move everything to Bank of the West.
--- N26 seems great for international travel so I may keep that.
--- unsure about Aspiration. I really love their ethos but I don't really have a purpose for them. You can only open one savings and one checking account and I've tried to deposit a check with them but I have to mail it in to be cashed in and who know how long that would take. Not looking ideal.
