In this conversation, Lindsey Clark talks about her experience restoring and owning Jeeps, specifically the Ford-built GP from 1941. The GP was a test vehicle for the government and was built with many shelf parts. Lindsey explains the differences between the GP and other Jeep models, such as the CJ2A and MDS, and notes that the GP had a distributor on the front of the engine and a unique carburetor designed for going through water. She also describes some of the GP's unique features, such as the headlights that could be flipped over to shine on the engine and the special steering box used in the four-wheel steer version. Lindsey estimates that there are around 150-200 GPs still in existence and notes that some restored GPs can be worth upwards of $60,000-$70,000.
