In this demonstration, two FANUC food-grade robots are used to pick, stack and package waffles on high speed conveyors, displaying the incredible speed and efficiency made possible through automating food processes with FANUC robots.
On one end of the system, a food-grade FANUC M-2iA/6HL Delta Robot uses FANUC 2D iRVision and FANUC iRPickTool line tracking software to pick randomly located waffles from a fast-moving conveyor. The FANUC M-2iA robot is able to work with both primary or secondary food products, and includes a food option with special coating to handle acid and alkaline disinfectants.
The M-2iA robot places the waffles onto an outfeed conveyor into stacks of five; the stacks then travel on a second high-speed conveyor to a food-grade FANUC LR Mate 200iD/7LC robot, which picks the waffle stacks from the conveyor and places them into a stationary box. This IP67-rated robot is made for clean environments, and offers various mounting options and an increased reach of 911 mm for fast flexible processing.
