Thylacine enthusiasts have unearthed forgotten footage of the last known Tasmanian tiger, which died in captivity in 1936. It’s a valuable addition to the very few moving images we have of the tiger, known as Benjamin, and it could be the last time he was recorded. Experts hope it will help us understand more about the lost species.

TEACHER RESOURCES
Students will develop a deeper understanding of the Tasmanian tiger and why it became extinct. Science - Year 6 & 7. History - Year 4.
