Iritis or Anterior Uveitis is the swelling and irritation (inflammation) in the colored ring around the eye's pupil called the iris. It is a common manifestation or disease that occurs in any age group, typically in young adults between 20-50 years of age. The most classic symptom of this disease is that the patient is unable to keep their eyes open under bright light. Other symptoms include sudden-onset pain, intense eye redness, and watering in the eyes.
