Favourite Tunes In the first instance, a lot of us probably know this tune due to it being recorded in the 78 record era in a brilliant fiddle duet by Paddy Killoran and Paddy Sweeney. That track can be heard here, and no horses were spared in the making of this disk: https://www.seevid.ir/fa/w/hiN5YB9tfdw In the second instance, a great deal more of us probably play this tune due to it being recorded by The Bothy Band. On that track, Matt Molloy is presented with a tune that, in the first part, goes down to a low B beyond the range of the flute, but rather than try to hide this, Matt makes the great decision rather to lash into that note (necessarily played an octave above on the flute) with strong pushes from the breath. This lends the melody a very interesting and dynamic rhythm. I do something similar in this short clip.
