Favourite Tunes This reel would appear to have Kerry connections with two-part versions being collected under the titles "Paddy Cronin's" and "The Gneevgullia Reel" (after a village in Sliabh Luachra). I first heard this tripartite version on the great LP "Cosa Gan Bhróga" by Desi Wilkinson, Eithne Ní Uallacháin and Gerry O'Connor. I'm not sure how the extra third part came into it, but it's a nice addition which brings a G major into the tune, reminiscent of that other great Em/G three-part reel "Mayor Harrison's Fedora".
