In our recent investigation at the Walpole Bay Hotel here we encountered a number of active events and clearly captured entities on video.

It is also where filming for the new TV series the Whitstable Pearl was filmed.  Whitstable Pearl explores the dark undercurrents of murder and debauchery swirling beneath the surface of the seaside town. But the hotel has far more real history to tell. The Walpole is a 1920's hotel and museum. Built-in 1914 and extended in 1927 this living museum retains many original characteristics and was featured in BBC's 'One Foot in The Past'. Original gas lamps, working, trellis gated Otis lift, 19th and 20th-century glass, original toaster, register going back to 1927, open fireplaces, and much, much more.
