A Canal Abandoned 200 years ago - Southampton to Salisbury

Hey folks. Welcome to another video where we explore, as much as time allows, the abandoned Southampton to Salisbury Canal. In use in sections between 1804 and 1808, a combination of circumstances meant that it would never become a success and was largely left derelict from 1812 onwards. Much of the South Upton arm was filled in during the 1840's and what remains today is mostly the western Salisbury section.
