This is a fairly simple and fantastic recipe to take gator meat to the next level!
Fried Alligator, when done right, is an excellent testament to Southerners making the absolute best of what's around them. Cajun spices, fluffy crispy breading, and perfectly cooked gator tail all come together in this recipe to make each bite a knock out for your next tailgate party or get together.

Gator meat is easily found online, as well as your local specialty meat/butcher shop. If you happen to live in the South near marshland, check your state regulations and local guide services for hunting Alligator in the Fall. Nothing tastes better than when you had a hand in bringing it home to the kitchen.

Cajun Flour Recipe:
The dredge I used in the video has a few too many ingredients for screen captions.
3 cups flour
2 tsp. Baking Powder
2 tsp. Cayenne
2 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. Garlic Powder
1/2 Tbsp. dried Thyme
2 Tbsp. Tony Chachere's, Slap Ya Mama, or whatever your favorite cajun salt seasoning is.
Whisk everything together in a large bowl.
Ready for dredging!
This is a loose recipe based on my specific tastes. Play with it. If you hate an ingredient take it out and put other things you love in. Soon enough you'll have your very own secret seasoned flour recipe.

If you're feeling lazy, or don't have a mega spice rack at home, they also sell pre-mixed Cajun Chicken Fry batter at stores. Try Louisiana Fish Fry Products, Seasoned Crispy Chicken Fry Chicken batter Mix. I've use that in the past and it was fantastic.
