Islands host some of the
Islands host some of the most unique and interesting animals on earth. The relative geographic isolation of islands makes them perfect natural laboratories for producing and developing new species of animals. This concept made a deep impression on a young and inquisitive Charles Darwin when he visited the Galapagos Islands, and it would play a major role in helping him to formulate his ideas on evolution.
In essence, islands illustrate evolution in action!
