Ventura cruise VE114 Elizabeth goes cruising
This footage is from a cruise we did in May of 2011, out of Southampton on the P&O ship Ventura.
Our first port of call was Manager. Malaga is a port city in southern Spain's Costa del Sol and the birthplace of Pablo Picasso in 1881 Back on Ventura, a band played as we prepared to set sail for Cephalonia.
Cephalonia
Kefalonia is an island in the Ionian Sea, west of mainland Greece.
It's known for its sandy coves and dry rugged landscapes. Many beaches are only accessible on foot or via narrow twisting roads.
The island is a popular tourist spot.
Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik was our next port of call.
It's a city on the Adriatic sea in southern Croatia. It's always a popular tourist destination.
Dubrovnik has been the filming location for several major productions including Game of Thrones.
Venice
All ways stunning, the sail into Venice didn't disappoint.
Korcula
Korcula is a tender port, the ship's lifeboats are used to ferry passengers ashore.
It's the sixth-largest island in Croatia, 20 miles long and between 4 and 5 miles wide.
According to legend, the island was founded by Trojan hero Antenor in the 12th century.
Corfu
Corfu, an island off Greece’s northwest coast in the Ionian Sea, is characterized by rugged mountains and a resort-studded shoreline.
Its cultural heritage reflects years spent under Venetian, French and British rule before it was united with Greece in 1864.
Corfu Town is flanked by 2 imposing Venetian fortresses and features winding medieval lanes, a French-style arcade and the grand Palace of St. Michael and St.George.

Vigo
Vigo, a port city on Spain's northwest coast, was our last port of call before our return to Southampton.
Vigo sail away
The great British sail away hosted by the entertainment team is always good fun. We now have two days at sea before Southampton. During cruise, VE114 Ventura has steamed 6270 nautical miles. A big thank you to the captain and ships company for making our cruise so enjoyable.
