كانت الفيضانات من الامور الاعتيادية التي كان البشر ومازالوا يتعايشون معها. بل وكانوا يتهيؤون للفيضانات الموسمية المنتظمة بسبب الرواسب التي تحملها هذه الفيضانات والتي تزيد من خصوبة التربة.
لاكن هناك حادثة في التاريخ السحيق في القدم في عصور ما قبل التاريخ والتي تعرف بحادثة الطوفان العظيم وما ميز هذا الطوفان الهائل والغير اعتيادي هو حجم الدمار الذي الحقه بالبشرية، والذي شمل شعوب وحضارات كثيرة في نفس الوقت وفي جميع القارات كما تشير الكثير من الاساطير من حول العالم.
Floods were a regular occurrence that humans were and still live with. They were even preparing for regular seasonal floods because of the sediments they carry, which increase soil fertility.
But there is an event in ancient history in prehistoric times, which is known as the Great Flood, and what characterized this huge and unusual flood is the magnitude of the destruction it inflicted on humanity, which included many peoples and civilizations at the same time and on all continents, as many legends from around the world indicate.
