Join us for epic pizza slices in Buenos Aires, Argentina at Banchero Restaurante which has a legendary reputation amongst locals. We continue our pizza challenge in Buenos Aires, Argentina with a visit to a pizza parlor located on Corrientes avenue.
We are now at Pizzeria Banchero where I ordered the Fernet with pepsi. It is a medicinal tasting alcoholic beverage that is popular in Cordoba but originates from Italy. So I mixed it with Pepsi but typically it is done with coke. It is an interesting drink that has grown on me over the years with its medicinal flavor.
So we tried 4 more slices with faina on top. We grabbed the anchovies pizza slices and one with spinach and a cream sauce on top. And then we got Fuggaza with onions and no cheese. No cheese on it. We've always wondered what is the difference. They are the creators of the fuggazetta. They created it. We gotta get the real deal. And then we got a slice of mozzarella with faina on top.
Audrey tried the anchovies pizza. This one had less tomato sauce compared to other places. She preferred it with more sauce but loved the dough. It is a good slice of pizza.
Next up we digged into the mozzarella. Pizza dough with faina on top with chickpea paste. It had no sauce. Just pure cheese. First time we encountered that at Banchero.
I tried to spinach slice with cream sauce instead of tomato sauce. It has a cream sauce instead.
We moved on to the fugezzetta. With just onions. Maybe they would chop the onions finer. What do you think of it? Both good. Nice and juicy. I preferred the classic slices.
We were both stuffed. The bill was only 625 pesos which was $10 USD which was 4 slices, faina, soda water and fernet with pepsi. A great deal. Totally stuffed.
