This challenging and progressive vinyasa class is inspired by traditional sun salutations and fundamental postures. This "celebration flow" is centered around santosha, or unconditional contentment. This is a cardiovascular practice that integrates breath, movement, strength, flexibility and balance, and incorporates some advanced postures. He found yoga in 2013 as a way to recover his health after a long battle with Crohn’s Disease and debilitating back pain. Through the practice, Chip has come to understand that the power of yoga lies in its ability to unlock the therapeutic energies within the practitioner. “To me, yoga is holistic therapy,” he says. “the sequences and philosophies are designed to strengthen and heal, and I teach so I can share that strength and healing with others” On the mat, Chip is best known for a pragmatic approach and a focus on strength, breath work, and alignment that create a therapeutic, moving meditation. He establishes an accessible environment that is both intense and lighthearted, while being held within a deeply spiritual framework. Chip’s deep love of the practice inspires and holds space for an authentic union of mind, body, and spirit that allows his students to connect deeply to their practice. A lifelong learner, Chip is an avid student, seeking out the best teachers and having trained extensively in vinyasa, hatha, and yin yoga. Chip has studied under world renowned teachers including Ted Grand, Jessica Robertson, Rod Stryker, Noah Mazé, Annie Carpenter, Schuyler Grant, Chad Dennis and Jenn Perry, Tiffany Cruikshank, Joe Barnett, Adam Ballenger, and Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, to name a few. Chip was born in Monterey, CA, and grew up in eastern Kentucky in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
