Shootings involving figures like Murat K. and Ibrahim I. unveiled Zekeriya K., leader of the Sahin gang in the Netherlands. Fearful of his retribution, the Turkish underworld stayed silent, stumping investigators.
Zekeriya, cousin of Sedat Sahin, controlled the Dutch syndicate. Their dominion spanned drugs, gambling, and more, rumored to even reach Turkey's Prime Minister. With a core group of ten skilled criminals, they diversified their criminal pursuits, focusing on global drug trade.
In 2013, Belgian and Dutch authorities apprehended Zekeriya and his associates, ending their reign. In 2017, he received a 19.5-year prison sentence. As Zekeriya serves his term, Tilburg's criminal landscape reshapes.
